As a Nationally Board Certified practitioner of Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology, I never had much of an interest in Western herbs - after 4 years of in depth training, nothing else measured up - until now. This course went above and beyond my expectations. Like my Chinese teachers, Lee explains how herbs often work better in combination, where they go in the body and how they affect each organ, gland and tissue. His basic anatomy and physiology review are better than any I had in school and set the stage for a complete understanding of the basic principles as well as the overall “big picture". He takes the best of the Chinese, Ayurvedic, Native American, and European herbs and not only makes them exciting, but easy to understand.
Lee also does a phenomenal job of synopsizing Kerry Bones book: Principles and Practice of Phytotherapy in his 10-30 minute mini modules. The breadth and depth of his teaching is more amazing each and every time I listen. I have to say, this online course might be better than taking the class in person - I can go at my own pace, review as needed, listen and just admire the slideshow, and come back again for more later. I have learned more in this online course so far than in all my other studies combined - and it has been a real pleasure.
